Hey all! This is Ryan Matlock. Just to set your mind at ease, so you know I am not some crazy hacker, I have been asked by Brock to do a book discussion for his book, Risk. Every day, I will post my thoughts and a review of one chapter from his book. This post isn’t one of the reviews though. This post is to let you know a little about me, and how I met Brock. But tomorrow I will post the first chapter review.
I met Brock about a year and a half ago, at one of his book signings. I mentioned to him my ambitions to write for Adventures in Odyssey when I grow up, and then a few months later, I Facebook messaged him, saying that I was reading his book, HowlSage. He asked if I would like to do a book discussion about it (like this one), and I agreed. After I finished that book discussion, he asked me to review his other book, Taken. And here we are, about 1 year later, and now that his book Risk is out, I am doing a book review for it!
A little about myself, I am 15 and I have 3 younger siblings. I love to write (obviously), and I am a huge fan of the radio drama produced by Focus on the Family, Adventures in Odyssey. I even have my own podcast devoted to AIO called the World Famous Odyssey Podcast! I also really like to play music, especially on piano, guitar, or ukulele. I really like speech and debate, and I love hanging out with friends and family.
